From the port of Civitavecchia, it is impossible to reach the city centre of Rome before 10/11 am even if you dock at 6 am!

I can state this with absolute certainty given my several years of experience with hundreds of cruises!

OPTION 1 If you will take a private transfer or coach bus, you will reach the city centre of Rome around 10 AM! it is simply not possible to get there before 10, due to the distance (more than 70 miles/120 kms) and the constant congestion due to heavy traffic.

OPTION 2 If you decide to reach the city centre by train (to save 150/200 euros of taxi) you will reach the city centre of Rome around 10.45/11 AM!

It is simply not possible to get there before 10.30/11 Am because often the first few trains of the day will be fully booked and you are forced to wait for the next train!

To reach the train station from the Cruise Ship terminal requires about 20 minutes on foot.

From Civitavecchia train station to the central train station in Rome, called Termini, takes about 70 minutes.

From Termini train station, take the Metro (Subway), line B to the Colosseum which takes around 25 minutes.

To return to the cruise ship terminal, you have to take the train again from the central train station Termini or the cruise ship transfer bus (from Piazza del Popolo/People's Square) back to the cruise ship terminal in Civitavecchia.

It means that you need to leave central Rome around 3.30pm to make it back to the port by 5.30pm. 4 pm if you return to the cruise ship terminal, by taxi!

This means you will only have 4 - maximum 5 hours to see Rome!

This is the reason why I cannot offer any scheduled group tours (morning or afternoon) to our cruise ship guests!

Below you will find my special cruise ship itinerary which allow you to see Rome’s highlights in your short period of time.

I don't provide transportation, but I suggest you contact the brother listed below who owns a licensed taxi/limousine service company for your transportation.

You can contact them directly, either by sms or Whatsapp message, and arrange your transportation.

Inclusions

• 5 hours of private guide assistance: from the moment you reach the Colosseum metro stop until your guide will takes you back to your departure point (train station or bus stop), you will be taken care of!
• Insurance coverage for all customers, in the event of injuries occuring during the tour!
• Homemade tiramisù for all customers!

You do not need to purchase any entry tickets for this tour, as we will not be entering the Colosseum or any other museums!

Within 7 days of your scheduled tour, the tour fee is non-refundable!
